If you work in a potentially dangerous environment, it’s probably not uncommon to think about what happens if your injured or even worse, killed on the job. A recent Missouri case looked at the ability for an employee to get worker’s compensation from a third-party contractor. In this case, an employee fell off a platform to her demise after attempting to use a malfunctioning piece of equipment. Since the defendant in question was in charge of safety inspections and was a third-party to the decedent’s employee, the defendant was unable to be shielded by worker’s compensation laws.
