A tax preparer by the name of Filmon Tekle pleaded guilty in May for one count of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and four counts of falsifying tax returns.
Tekle charged hefty fees for filing returns and then paid kickbacks to his ta
x preparers. In total Tekle’s system cost the government roughly $167,500.
His ‘company’ changed names each year including First Class Tax LLC and First Class Tax Group LLC.
He was sentenced on Thursday July 5th to 21 months in federal prison.
