Hoorfar Law: What We Do - Paternity

Paternity

How We Can Help

Our law office helps both mothers and fathers through the process of a paternity suit. Whether you would like to test a child and know if you are the father, or if you are wanting to test a child to prove who the father is, our office can assist you.

Missouri

An action to establish a child's father can be brought by any of the following: (1) the child, (2) the child's mother, (3) the presumed father, (4) a man alleging to be the father, (5) any person who has had legal custody of the child for at least 60 days, or (7) the Family Support Division.

In four different situations, Missouri presumes to know who the father of a child is. However, if you are presumed to be the father of a child and you do not believe that you are the father, then contact our office so we can assist you in attempting to overcome Missouri's presumption.

Kansas

Similar to Missouri, Kansas has six different situations in which it presumes to know who the father of a child is. If you are presumed to be the father of a child and you do not believe that you are the father, then contact our law office so that we can assist you in attempting to overcome Kansas' presumption.

Also similar to Missouri, Kansas has specific rules regarding who can bring a paternity action and challenge the paternity of a child. If you are needing assistance in bringing a paternity action in the State of Kansas, feel free to contact our law office so that we can assist you.
