The\r\nfederal investigation has entangled the three companies in civil lawsuits and\r\ncriminal proceedings. Prosecutors are trying to elicit the largest possible\r\nfine that is allowed under the plea agreement, which is pressuring StarKist&#8217;s\r\nfinances.
