U.S. District Judge Carlos Murguia was publicly reprimanded\nfor misconduct that included sexually harassing court employees. The\nJudicial Council of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, chaired by\nthe Circuit Chief Judge Timothy Tymkovich, held that Judge Murguia engaged in\nan extramarital relationship with a felon who was on probation, sexually\nharassed employees, and was constantly late for court engagements. Judge\nMurguia admitted to the misconduct allegations, apologized for his behavior, and\npromised he would not engage in any inappropriate conduct in the future. The\norder from the Judicial Council said that the evidence and facts associated\nwith the allegations were “insufficient” to recommend that Judge Murguia be\nimpeached. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
