You Have the Right to Remain Silent

ARREST

Once a person has asserted a 4th Amendment right, such as the right to counsel, after receiving a Miranda Warning, interrogation is ceased. In most cases, in order to resume interrogation, the suspect must be re-read their Miranda rights. However, if a person in custody initiates the resumption, officers do not need to repeat the Miranda Warning.  If you have been arrested and need to speak to an attorney, contact our office at 816-524-4949 or check out our website at Hoorfarlaw.com.
