Buying a Vehicle within 910 Days of Filing for Bankruptcy

If you buy a vehicle within 910 days of filing for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you will most likely be required to pay the full debt amount of the vehicle, rather than the vehicle’s value amount.  However, if you purchased the vehicle more than 910 days from filing a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you might be able to cram down the vehicle.  Cram downing a vehicle typically means that a Chapter 13 debtor can pay the value of a vehicle instead of what is actually owed on the vehicle.
