Sears recently announced the closing of more than 100 unprofitable stores which will enevitably cause lay offs in store, however, there seems to be large layoffs at the corporate level as well.
Earlier this year 220 corporate office employees were let go as the company struggles to make it to and get through the 2018 holiday season. The company recently landed a deal with Citi to get roughly $400 million more in business.
According to a WARN report in Illinois another 200 corporate employees were let go, a majority working specifically at the Hoffman Estates support center.
